Departments, colleges, and divisions – academic, administrative, and student services – are integrated in their efforts to drive student success.

This Month @ SHSU Online
U.S. News & World Report has once more given SHSU very high marks in its 2018 Best Online Programs rankings. The magazine ranked SHSU's online Criminal Justice graduate program #1 in the nation among Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs.
This past fall, members of SHSU Online's Multi-Media Services team assisted Dr. Bill Angrove, SHSU's associate vice president for distance learning and TSUS's chief online education officer, and other TSUS officials, in creating and publishing the System’s first Online Education Annual Report.
The Multi-Media Services department at SHSU Online recently produced an informational video that introduces and outlines the "Transformational Model" - a set of three interlocking initiatives that work together toward making education accessible and achievable for traditionally underserved students.
Sam Houston State University was recently selected as one of four institutions across the State of Texas to become a member in the GradTX program, which is designed to connect college “stop outs” with universities that offer specialized programs through online programs and online course offerings.
The Re-Imagining the First Year (RFY) committee at SHSU has recently launched an initiative to help faculty find, adopt, and create reduced-cost student course materials, as well as open educational resources (OER).
As reported in the November issue of SHSU Online Newsletter, SHSU Online's departments of 60x30, Continuing Education, and Correspondence Self-Paced Studies have moved to the University Plaza building.
SHSU Online is offering numerous How-To Sessions in February to meet faculty needs. SHSU faculty can sign up for fully online, cohort-based, and self-paced courses, as well as scheduled webinars.
One of the challenges faced by online, hybrid, and web-enhanced instructors is keeping students engaged. This tip focuses on a way to engage students using the Blackboard app.

IT@Sam has several computer labs across the SHSU campuses. Each lab is equipped with Windows 7 workstations, DVD-RW drives, scanners, printers, USB ports and other peripheral items. Software installed in the computer labs is the same across all IT@Sam computer labs.
