Reading and Writing Center

The Math Lab is located in Farrington 104, and offers tutorial services for students taking developmental or 100-level math courses. Office hours are Monday - Thursday from 8 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM, and Sunday 2 PM to 7 PM. Call: 936-294-3357 for more information.

  • Mandatory Advising Guidelines:
    • All students are encouraged to be advised to assure that they are taking classes relevant to their individual degrees. There are four categories of students who must be advised:
      • Students with no SHSU GPA (all new freshmen and transfer students).
      • Students who have below a 2.5 overall GPA.
      • Students subject to TSI requirements.
      • Students who have 90+ hours, including the current semester. This is to assure that they are on the right track towards graduation.

In the event I make changes to my SHSU account such as adding a meal plan, I understand any outstanding balance must be paid in accordance with the SHSU payment deadlines or I will be at risk of losing my class schedule. Campus Connect for Students

Campus Connect provides students the opportunity to schedule appointments with many departments on campus, starting with the ability to schedule tutoring appointments with the Academic Success Center/Writing Center now. As Campus Connect is implemented campus-wide throughout 2016, it will help students access their campus resources and optimize their student experience.
